The occult and macabre have provided inspiration to the arts and music for hundreds of years, and this score aims to follow that rich history, standing on the shoulder of classical giants. Written for Derwent Brass in 2021, Musica de los Muertos takes takes western classical music and refracts the themes and ideas through the guise of ‘big band’ and ‘jazz’ treatments.
